Could I get some expert opinions from all of you guys. My son has qualified for the National RA race this June at Indianapolis In. He place at our church race, regional race, and state race in the lads division. We ran a car with extended wheel base, drilled axle holes, smooth speed axles, raised wheel, 4-40 tapped wheels, and max-v graphite. This was my first try at tapped wheels and it did ok but in my opinion not as fast as grooved axles with a smooth polished bore. The problem I have is the national rules are totally different than any other level and now this car is not going to be run because it won't pass inspection. We have to build a new car using the 4 1/4 axle slots, use axles from their kit, no modifications to wheels that alter shape( ie coning or s). I would like your feed back on tapped wheels as this is the only mod I can do to wheels or would you do a good polish job and run wheels smooth with smooth axles? I need to get this one right because it is 563 miles to Indianapolis and it will be single elimination. thanks for you help
