I'm interested in tinkering with a rail rider over the summer in preparation for our cubscout pinewood derby next year. (I want to get started early to have plenty of time to work with my son so he can be as involved as possible).
From reading several posts, I've seen how to bend the axle, then start with the axle at either 12 o'clock or 6 o'clock and rotate the axle until the appropriate point is achieved (I've read anywhere from 1 inch to 2 inches in 4 feet of run would be appropriate).
My question is, how do you rotate the axle? Do you pull it out and reinsert, or is the hole loose enough to rotate it?
A related question, I'm assuming most drill holes from the bottom to superglue the axles in place once the appropriate alignment is achieved. Can you typically pull the axles out once they've been glued in place?
Thanks for the help.
