Hi all again I asked a question that no one has answered yet and today I found some basic rules for stock cars that u can hollow out the wheels, does this mean that u can hollow out the wheels of the wheel tread in order to have 8 thin razors on the track? and this is of off this site for stock rule's yet I also read full contact? my son races Sunday with the boy scouts, so any help asap would be great. Plus the grilling out of the tread was my original question, for less air Resistance.
Thanks again to all.

Perplexed David007 David007, When they talk about hallowing out the wheels, they mean take the excess material out of the inside of the wheels. It is done to cut weight off the wheel. From the outside the wheel appears stock. You need to check with the race committee for your son's Pack to find out what is legal in his race, because the rules vary from Pack to Pack, and District to District. You want your son's car to be as competitive as possible, but you can't win if you can't get it thru inspections.

ah ha thankyou very much indeed for the info on the wheel's now I undersand.
Now one other thing is are you allowed to angle drill the tread at about a 30 deg angle to help with air resitence on the face of the tread just an idea as there is a whole lot more that go's into these car than I could have ever imagend. thanks again slkrnsntracing. David007

David007 David007, I would doubt if it would be legal. Most packs want the tread surface flat, but that varies from Pack to Pack and District to District also. To be sure, check with the race committee of your son's Pack. Know and understand the rules your son's Pack uses, is one of the best speed tips I can give you. Good Luck! Phil
