Gents,
After finally getting my computer to take .mpeg-2 file the kids and I were able to see our heat runs. There were somethings I noticed about all three of our cars at some point down the track the cars seemed to shimmy down the track. It was very evident on the red lane then less in the blue lane and even less on the yellow lane. What I was unable to tell is if the cars were riding the rails however it did look close. I can fix that problem by correcting the alignment and correcting the center of mass on the cars. However, I'm not sure why the cars are shimming down the track and the only thing that I can come up with is an aggressive weight distribution and a COM nearer the rear axles on a short wheelbase. Any ideas?
Thanks

Hey J2CE,
I took a look at some of the clips of your cars and here are my thoughts. My guess would be that it mainly has to do with alignment. If you watch some of the other cars many will shimmey, especially in certain lanes. Malibu is one that in a number of the clips has a lot of shimmey, but it still ran very fast (could have been faster without the shimmey).
Also, the stock style wheels are more prone to shimmey and alignment issues than the mods. The C/M can still be aggressive, but the alignment needs to be right on to keep the car from developing the shimmey.

Warthog,
Thanks for the advice. Jim just PM'd me suggesting the exact same thing. Two right can make a wrong.
