Is it legal for the axle slots to be on the top of a Stock Pinecar instead of the bottom?
Pro's and Con's?
What would your pack think? District? Anything in the rules say you can't do it?
What about WIRL?

There is no rule against it as long as you can clear the track (3/8") No Cons to it otherwise!

According to #3 in WIRL's Beta Stock Division rules list:
"Official BSA car kits must be used including BSA wheels, and BSA axles placed in original axle slots"
Looks like WIRL may frown on it

I would think that as long as the stock slots were used (where they were cut by the manufacturer), it would not matter if they were down or up. As far as a speed enhancement, I could'nt tell you. I have never tested that configuraton. Maybe we will see one in the next WIRL race. ;D

Rule #3 at WIRL doesn't say anything about the stock BSA slots being on the top or the bottom.
In a response from WIRL today their main consern is ground clearance.. They don't see how you would get enough with the slots on top.
BSA rules don't say anything about this.
I think the car would work if cut to about 6mm.
Alignment could be a problem, I haven't tryed this yet.

There was a car that raced back in February in WIRL called flat out. builder name was rough riders. I bet they could run that car with the bottom up. I never could figure out how they got the car to weight 5 ounces being that thin.
