sometimes I run across people with wheels, what looks like silver polish.
What is it ? where you get it and how do you apply it ?
I have tried to duplicate it with my molly mix graphite, but seems to not even come close to it when I'm done.

It is probably graphite. We do that with our wheels and they come out almost silver. I was almost accused of using non-BSA wheels on the boys' cars until I explained that it's graphite.
I stuck the wheels on a mandrel, chucked it into a drill, put some graphite on a cloth, and lightly pressed it against the tread. Just rolling the wheels in graphite won't do the trick for me.

After doing some testing on my track I have found no difference in speed between graphite on the tire or no graphite. I will admit that I like the way it looks.

I wish I could find the link, but I was reading a website that did some testing with graphite on the tread. On some tracks, it reduces speed, on others it doesn't.

I could believe that track setup plays a part in it. I believe your car setup would have an outcome on this too. I have found that it really made no difference for me, but looks cool.

Speedie try tungsten disulfide its very fine it gives them a silver look or any very fine griphite it has worked for me

Shadetree are you seeing any speed gains from doing this.

There is definate speed gains to graphiting your rear wheels. You want them to be as slick as possible but you want your front wheels to grip hard.

Shadetree are you seeing any speed gains from doing this. I don't really know I don't have a track to test on but it will dirty up the track I don't wont to dirty up the leagues tracks
