Hello every ;D one. Well I have a prob. My son and I have made cars now for 4 years now and now we are stuck on going faster. let me fill you all in a bit. the first year we made a car for my sons tiger cub race did good 1st den 8th dist. second year found your site did great 1st den 2 over all dist. 3rd year my son did all the car by himself picked star wars speed bike looked good but not that fast he liked it got 1st den 10th dist. now he said help me make this one fast??? so we made low slick and used tungsten weights, turned the wheels 1.10g. bal. polished axles, and raced at den got 1st. but time was not as fast as 2nd year.it was 2.80 2nd year was 2.46 32 foot wood track good shape . note in the years past the times at pack and dist. not the same. same track but set up new place and things change. so at home raced on practice track plastic bsa track 20 feet all the room I have. raced it with 2nd year car side by side. found that it was turning into the rail raised wheel. not good so i fix it no straight now. so raced it again same side by side??? Help!! Note could the shortness of the test track be not showing the speed and maybe the longer track it will pick up speed??? can some one help??? Sorry for the long post.

ResinRick, The short track is going to make it very hard to tell how fast a car is. I used a 16ft + stop section wooden track for several years to test/tune my cars on. There just isn't enough room for cars to "stretch" their legs. On my track a Modified car and a Pure Stock car would run very close times. I basically used it to see if the car was tracking right and as a big tuning board. Sounds like you have a good car set up. What com are you running ? Is the car a rail rider ?

com??? It is now a rail rider it was turning in to the raised wheel so I adj. and got it to turn to the down wheel lightly so I left it. the cog is alittle over 3/4". I was hopping the track was 2 short to tell and that it will tack off in the last 12 feet of track.

COM = Center of Mass or as you put it, COG.
Most rail riders steer into the rail with the front dominant wheel and keep the raised wheel off the rail.
