What method do you use to relube?
Graphite A) Put a few puffs and shake it in between the axle and wheel. B) Use a small, clean, paintbrush and sweep the graphite in. C) Cut the end of a straw into a scoop and direct the graphite with the scoop.
Oil - one drop and spin it in.
Or do you mark the alignment of your axles, remove them and relube?

I am curious as well, being new to this. I kind of peppered it onto the hub by the axle and spun away. Before the lube worked it's way in the wheel kind of chattered on the axle. After a couple spins though it smoothed right out.

We use methods a and b , but I like c as well. I've never used that method before, but could see it working. With axle holes, it is certainly harder than with slots as they are not as close to get to, so a few puffs is generally best.
For any cars after a full set of races such as returning from leagues or between PD and district races, it depends on the final heats and how well the car has maintained its alignment when it is back home. If a car was smoking the others and appeared to be aligned really well thru the last heats, I would be really hesitant to remove the axles and re-tune. In those cases, we would tend to just re lube and spin them in.
As for leagues specifically, I like Pro Quest's method. Smoke everyone and then leave the car there. HA! HA!

We use slots - ave to for our pack. We put the graphite onto the axle in the slot, spin the wheel and tap the body to allow the graphite to flow into the hub.
Seems to help with keeping the graphite from clumping. We've liked the results.

I thought most racers were using Krytox?

Khouse, My apologies for the confusion. I was referring to a graphite only method in my discussion on relubing. For my league cars, I am using Krytox. It is just too user friendly. Darryl www.DerbyDominator.com

My first bottle of Krytox is due tomorrow. I just thought I wasted $20.00?

Khouse,
I am still using the bottle I opened in August and I bet I have done a hundred axles with it. Definitely not a waste.
