My son is a wolf now and the Derby is coming up. last year are first time he got 1st is his den and age and at dist. he got 3rd he was so happy. he is talking a lot about it this year and he wants a test track to try out new cars on. I have about 40 feet of test track the blue plastic sold by the BS. he wants a 2 lane track so he can comp. last years car with the new ones. with out a timer. what I need to know is will 20 feet be ok to test the cars on and how high should i make it and how far it should drop to the flat part. I could make it longer if need but it is for a small amount of time use. if someone can help me and my son Thanks.

For what you are doing you do not need a track to test on... go buy a 18" by 96" laminated self board set it up with a level side to side with some shims then set one end higher than the other by one inch... then let the car roll for straightness and see if it will make it to the end. If it makes it to the end and keeps picking up speed you will have a fast car... If it does not make it to the end or slows down at the end your car will need some work... If you want to take it to the next level then I suggest to buy a best track.... I hope this helps Glenn 2fast4u
