I have used the rail rider tool with great sucsess using it with BSA width wheels, i am making a car and wusing RS s. The length of the axle that is bent seems to be just slightly longer than the width of the stock BSA Wheel. the RS wheels are much thinner, so if i use the tool the way it is a portion of the bent part of the axle will be in side the axle hole. this seems like it could be problematic. should i machien the side of the rail rider tool down so it will bend a shorter section of the axle when using the RS wheels ? Any thoughts?

Any thoughts? I'll make the assumption that you are talking about the steer axle only and not the rear wheels. If by chance you are running cant on the rear wheels...don't !! When building a modified car using the RS wheels, I just bend the front steer axle by hand using a set of pliers and a piece of scrap wood. You only need to put a very small bend in the steer axle of a modified car. Just enough to be able to give the car some steering adjustment. Save the RR Tool for your wide wheel cars that need more cant in the axle to perform better. Lucky 13

Thank you very much for your imput, i find it very refreshing to find a form were every one is so helpfull. i have a question about your advice, if you don't kant the rear wheels how do you keep the wheel out on the head of the axle? or is it not nessisary to keep the wheel out on the head. thanks again.

With the RS wheels I use straight axles only. I make a mark on the axle at 12 o' clock and start making slight adjustments to the axle until the wheel runs out to the axle head. Basically start at noon, if the wheel does not migrate out, tune the axle to about 1 o' clock and try again, etc.. I keep doing this until the wheel migrates out to the axle head. It can take a little time and patience, but the end results are worth it. Lucky 13
