We are looking to build a pretty thin car this year and saw that model plane builders use carbon strips and carbon tape to add strength to areas of their balsa planes that need it. Here is a link: www.hobby-lobby.com/carbonfiber.htmDoes anyone have any experience/input with this?

I could see some creative car applications for this. I was thinking of experimenting with various hard woods.

I have used 3/16 x 1/16 carbon fiber strips to strengthen both "menace" and "blue bayou" running the length of the car - this allows a thin strong body. I had a car get broken several years ago when a boy was looking at one of my cars (without asking) and when he saw me notice what he was doing, he droped the car! It broke in half and never did run quite the same. Now I take the necessary precautions.
