Is there enough clearance to stack tungsten plates. I want to stack two.

If you are referring to the tungsten plates sold at Maximum Velocity, then our 5062 plates can be double stacked on the bottom of a cub scout block using the standard axle slots. If you are using axle holes, or a block from another group (such as as Awana), then you would likely only be able to have the tungsten single thickness. See: www.maximum-velocity.com/tungstenplates.htmfor more information (scroll down).

Thanks. The two plates cleared fine. We were using the standard slots. Unfortunately, all the top cars were using extended wheel bases. We did not know you could do that. My question is, if I extended the wheel base and drilled new holes using the probody tool, wouldn't the car still sit at the standard height and clear the double stacked plates? Thanks

When you extend your wheelbase, remember to move your plates further back. Keep the center of gravity 3/4" - 1" in front of the new rear axle.

I started this thread last year and I learned that 2 tungsten plates stacked will fit with the stock axle slots. This year we have stepped up to the pro-body jig and the car is lower to the ground. Can someone tell me if one plate can be stacked below the pro-body jig ride height? I find that if I hollow out behind the axle for the thickness of two, that I may then encroach on the axle hole. Thanks.
