Gents- over the last few years we've had a bit of luck and from help from this board. I wanted to thank you all again. We raced in Pack- about 60-70 cars, on a 42 foot Super Track. Our first 3 times were 2.94-2.96.
We beat everyone by at least a car length. Apparently after the 3rd race, our front axle got bent to heck...suprised it even made it down the track on the final run. I was at the finish line and didn't catch the axle problem. We barely lost to a car we had just beat by a car length in the previous race. I was wondering what happened and checked the tires/axles and sure enough- it was bent big time! I guess we should eyeball the car after every race!
Anyways, it happens! So with that said, I need to put in a new axle and re-align and off to Districts. For anyone who may find this helpful here are the specs:
baked the block to lighten it 5.0 oz total weight- .05 oz of wood to start 3/4 COM with 3.6 oz of tungsten- and super low 3 wheeler no RR- as SuperTrack has no middle guide rail- but unfortunately Districts do!! Dead on alignment axles- sanded, polished- the works wheels- sanded, polished, bore work, hub, etc- the works- all wheels rode on axle heads nicely Paint- spray on to keep it light hob e lube spun the wheels big time to break them in
Thanks again for all your help!!
Next years car: will have at least 3.75 COM at 3/4 canting- 2.5 and 1.5 move .3 of wood off block and move to front
I'll let you know how districts go- but were not going to change our car to RR.

Thanks- our son and I, both had a great time building and working on it together. I'm also a former science teacher and use the opportunity for him to learn. It's great seeing our kids grow and have fun- thanks!
