Hello I am new to this site and wanted to know if anyone out there heard of a flex car? I saw one and now I wanted to make one. Does any have a pattern they could give me? ;D

I've seen a photo. You cut the wood in thin concentric U-shapes to make the whole car a 'flex' body. Check www.goaskgrandpa.com/flex.htm for a good picture and explanation. Good Luck!

There have been previous discussions on a flex car design either here or on the PWDracing proboards. I have built one like "grandpa's" design and found no improvement in performance on my track, which is a very smooth wood design. The design may be helpful on rough tracks where the car has to absorb bumps, etc. but on smooth tracks mostly in use these days the flex design seems to have no advantage.
