Folks,
Unbelievable, - my son won his Districts today! He is totally excited and what a great day for him! 6 runs and 6 wins.
He raced on a 32 ft Aluminum track and his best time was 2.500 and slowest was 2.509 (from start pin to finish line= 32 feet) His speed was 218 mph
We didn't even worry about RR, just lubed up from Pack race and went for it.
It seems next year he already has some ideas to get to 2.4's. So, we'll see how he does.
Regardless, thanks to you all for helping him and I over the years. We absolutely appreciate all the feedback!!
Not sure if he wants to go to Council- any ideas on if a 2.5 flat is a good time for a 32 foot aluminum track?? He's never been to Council and we don't know what to expect.

No one mentions times here much. I run the track for our church (32' Freedom) and I run scout races as well as Awana GP races. 2.50 is very fast. After 4 years running it our current track record is 2.543. I'm sure the "pros" out there are in the 2.4's on the same track. If you are just doing things right as far as setup and then going racing you are doing well. I've been running races since before we had timers and I've never seen 2.4's from Awana cars. I'd like to know what the fastest Awana car times are, give me something to shoot for!

Congratulations on you and your Son's win. Your times are competitive and by the looks of it you might of had a slight Rail Rider and not of even planned it. Usually a straight on alignment will not net you a high to low run differance of .009sec. Here is a link to some info we did a few years back you migh tfind interesting. Remember every track will vary as well as start micro switch set-up and timer, but you ran very well!!! www.derbyworx.com/Tale_of_the_tape_and_timer.htmCongrats. Racer X
