These are several cars from one of my racing friends: Sporty. I started pro racing under "Team Sporty" where we were able to break the oil code before last year's Blue Grass Nationals. At that time, the ability to run very fast on oil was a coveted secret. Sporty no longer races so I got some of his goods from him. The two cars below are Poison (black) and Glimmerez (white). Glimmerez took third in Limited last year at Blue Grass Nationals so I inputted #3 on the car when I painted it. The Poison Car was painted black again. Poison was raced at PWDR and had very good success early in the year on powder. Besides painting the cars, I put epoxy in the axle holes and re-drilled to my race set-ups for big axle cars. Re-drilling holes is not easy. The drilling process takes time so the epoxy does not get hot. It is very hard to hold the car when it has been shaped and narrowed. I don't know if the cars will be able to hold with the current Limiteds at PWDR. If I cannot get speed out of the cars, I will put them in a display case to remember Sporty and his contributions to BSA Pinewood Derby and PWDR. Murph SLT
