My son wanted to try the flex car this year (based on Go-Ask-Granpa original and as templated out by Max Velocity). Likes the design. We made a few changes that hopefully will not hurt the speed too much.
Car is mostly build, but we are struggling with how to capture the weight on top of the car (about 1.0 COM). We need to hold between 3.5 and 4.0 oz Tungsten, and would like something that looks at least decent.
have seen a dupro block used, but he does not want to do that.
Any small "container" suggestions helpful.
Thanks

How about a 3.5oz Tungsten Canopy? It would look good.
They have a mounting stud that could be used. Finish weight it with a little Tungsten Putty.

Thanks. I like that idea. Had not thought of the stud, but we could use that to put putty under the edge for final adjustment.
Also like that it will hold the mass slightly off the car, given the flex nature of the design.
My son is building a "lego box" today as well. We will compare results and he can choose
