So,
Many parents of scouting (for there kids).
Want to know, why Do I need a thin car to go fast, Seen this around allot. A common Question.
Some parents and kids, want a fuller body car with some shape and design to it.
Well, it's hard to compromise weight concentration with more wood.
Cars that have 4oz of weight in the right area's. naturally are going to peform better then cars with 1 or 2oz of weight added to the car, to make up for all that wood.
If you want to go faster and better you're odds. Then sadly.
I recommend a weight of 3 1/2 oz or 4oz to your car, lead or tungsten.
I prefer tungsten, because it also gets the weight lower in the car, and more compact compared to other materials you can use.
Wood. It's simple. If you want to do well and are focused on speed. a car that is 3/8th thick or 1/4 thick is really the playing field you really need to be at ! So you can get to that range of 3 1/2 to 4 oz in the right area.
You might be able to route out and have a super thin, body design type car, this woudl still give you a compromise between a super light wood car (before adding weight).
It still will effect being able to go super duper fast. But still could leave you and you're child with a trophy !
