My Son and I went to a Cub Scout Pinewood Derby. We noticed that a couple of cars had wheels that were a solid silver instead of the out of the box solid black color. You could actually see your refection it was cool. I asked the father how he did it and said he rubbed graphite on the wheels with his hands and it would blend in and it would turn to the silver color. I went home and tried it with my hands and a drill press. I tried it doing using dry and wet graphite. I tried using different kind of towels and sandpaper but I am having no success. I even found a pencil that was graphite and rubbed it on a wheel while it was spinning on a drill press. I am having no luck. Any Ideas?
