This was my oldest son's last year in cub scouts. We finally got everything right! He won first place in his pack overall. I won first place in the first ever parents derby. My daughter won first place in the Sibling derby. And my youngest son won second place in the Sibling derby! Every one came home with a trophy/place medal! Due to the three first place finishes for the three races (there were only three classes) I have dubbed the design "Trifecta". Here are the pictures for your enjoyment.
This is my oldest son's car and his trophy.
This is my and my daughter's car and trophies.
This is my four year old son's car and ribbon. Pretty good job for a four year old huh?
This is a close-up of my daughter's car.
This is a close-up of my car. You can see the glitter effects Clear Effex clear coat on the car pretty well. It looks sweeter and shinyer in person. I put it on Emma's as well but it shows up on the dark colors better. I have called this Trifecta design "The Purple People Eater" after the old Monster Mash song of the same tune ("It was a one-eyed, one-horned, flying purple people eater"). You could see the one eye (a one inch tungsten round dropped out the bottom of the car 1/16" - 1/8") if you turned the car over. The one horn is the pointy nose of the car. Flying because no one could catch it. (Is 2.191 seconds on a wooden, 32 foot, six-lane standard BSA ramp and flat track fast?!) People eater because it devoured all opponents.
Last but not least is a picture of my oldest son's car. You can see the glitter effects Clear Effex clear coat on his too.
I would like to brag a little about the heat times as well as get input on a mystery regarding the heat times. However that will be forthcoming on the Ask the Pro's section soon.
