It comes in 6 oz. cans. I get it at VIP auto which is a New England discount auto parts store. It sells for $5.49 a can. You need a base, a color and a clear as a minimum. It comes in silver base(Kandy) and white base(Pearl). The colors are different depending on pearl or candy. The clear works on both. It is made by Valspar out of Medina, Ohio. The same company also makes plasti-kote auto paints. It must be fairly new because it just came in here in the last month and it is not on their website yet.

... The clear works on both... Does anyone have any suggestions on the application of the clear? I have done 7 cars since 2005 using the HOK base and color. I have not had any luck with the clear turning out. I have used Minwax too. Still no luck. Is there any other clear that works well with the HOK rattle cans?

Mike, Are you using the spray can version?> If so, I would recommend switching over to a two-part (clear + hardener). Once I switched to the two part solution, all of those worries were left behind.

Thanks Pat. Not an option at this point. Maybe in the future. When I get set up, I will give you a ring for more instruction!
