My son won his pack race with an average time of 3.05 on a 42' best track. The car is a 3 wheeler set up for rail riding (or my best try at it)
The district race is being held on a 32' very poor condition wooden track and a lot of the cars end up running off the track.
Would I be better off skipping the rail riding and just aligning to run as straight as possible. His car has the standard wheelbase with BSA axles and 3.2g wheels.
Thanks ;D

I have not spent alot of time running the rail rider system, but I do now ruff tracks. I am confused with being able to set up different for district race. But the packs seem to vary in rules and what they allow. After our pack race, the car is sealed in a box and the Pack Master has it until about 1 hour before the race.
But I think if you are going to a shorter and much ruffer track and are allowed to change things.
You certainly are thinking of a decent choice to do.
I like the strait set up, or regular true alignment, perhaps because I do very well with it.
Maybe some else will counter me, but I would say if you know for sure it's a much ruffer track. Then i would go with a non- rail rider.

That is what I was thinking and why I asked the question. As for re-adjusting for the district race the rules stated only that the car would not be held by the pack and that is the only district specific rule.
Thanks
