I know some rules state that you have to use the kit axles. I am not judging anyones choices, but what do most people do, buy a pre-made race axle or make their own?
We build our own from both the BSA kit axles or use a better base stock axle that we have here at Derby Worx and modify and polish it. ;D

I used to make my own until I got some Derby Worx axles! All the hard work is already done! ;D
I don't have the "must use kit axles" rule in our modified class.

I looked to see if anyone had some that looked like BSA axles. You don't want your kid getting to inspection and being disqualified for having nonstock axles. But I have always filled in my axle slots with wood putty to help protect them and keep them in place. If you do have some from BSA stock, I would be interested in them.
