Hey mountain Dave, Im willing to send one or two in if you start accepting mail in's. The word should spread fast if you want to turn it into a proxy league. On your website, you said that sapcar racers won 1st, 3rd, 5th, etc. at wirl, were you talking about the peachtree derby? Congrats on the top finishes. It looks like it was well deserved.

Welcome Mountain. When you do start with proxy racing, try and make it the weekend between wirl and pwd. Then we will have only one weekend to sit around and wait for a race.

We've moveed our discussions up on the mail-ins so that if the decision is to open the league up, mail ins will be in the season 5 running for the championships.
The concesus of the board is to open it up, so we are busily working on a registration form. Thanks to everyone for the interest.
We run our version of stock (we allow the wheelbase to be changed) and a limited modified. The stock class has two age groups (youth (0-17) and adult (18+)) while the LM class is an open class, winner takes all.
Our schedule for this season (8 months, Aug - Apr, with Dec off) has already been set. Many of us, including myself, are involved with the scouts, so we have to work around scouting calendars.
Once we get a registration form finalized, I'll post a notice here. It should be within the next day or two.
And thanks for the update on the email address.

Good news! ;D Our board agreed to mail-ins and have finalized the form (we did use the existing PDDR, PWD, etc. as guides.) The form can downloaded from our site www.sapcar.comAlong with allowing the mail-ins, we have also changed our scoring to best avg time, 2 runs per lane. This temporarily limits us on one of our tracks but still leaves us two to switch between over the season. As for the 9 oz. class, currently it is a non-competition, non-points class, just something we have been toying with. The 7 oz. has been a standard in our local cub pack for 8+ years and in our series since we started. Keep an eye on our site as we are developing a special series to really mix up (literally) the competition.

Since SAPCAR uses different types of tracks each month, is it known on a month to month basis which track will be used before each event? If so, what type track is going to be used in September?

42 foot 2-lane Best Track with a Microwizard K3 Fast Track timer feeding GrandPrix Race Manager software.
Our scoring is best average over 2 passes per lane.

;D Oops, been away from my PC for a while. Actually our Jan. race marks the second outing of the Rat Rods. At this moment the track for the Jan race is a 42 ft. Best Track with K3 timer. After taking the first race with Something Vick'd, I'm finishing up my Lil' Deuce Coupe for Jan. before switching to a full bodied Lead Sleds in Feb. and Mar. Our season finale will feature our Super Mods. Up to 9 oz. and just about anything goes with the wheels and axles (including bearings.)

Well we have finished our Rat Rods for the season. Our next race will feature not only our Stock and Limited Mod classes but in the preformance class, we will feature the Lead Sleds. These are 6 oz "full bodied" cars (check our website for full specs.)
For those who may be interested in mail-ins, we will complete the remainder of the season (next 3 races) on a 42 foot Best Track, using a MicroWizard timer. Again check our website for race schedules and mail-in registration forms.
We have also added a mission statement to our website. Our league donates all of its profit back into our community, primarily via our SCALES award which is a scholarship program for leaders in our community youth programs (scouts, sports, etc.) that helps to offset continued education in their specific area. We have just awarded our third such scholarship and will updating the site shortly to recognize the recepient.

Whew.
We just finished up our 5th season of racing and the points were tight in many classes. WE Racing, one of our long time racing families captured 3 championships. Individual racers Jordan Whitlow and Brent Whitlow took home the top honors in the stock youth and stock adult classes. The Whitlow clan, under the team name of WE Racing also captured the Limited Modified Championship.
Our newest class, which rotates thru several sets of rules and is deemed the Performance class offered a real nail biter between WE Racing's James "Junior" Whitlow and MIR Racing's David Isley with David edging out Junior by a single point in the final tally. David and MIR Racing are also one of our founding racing teams.
Congratulations to all of the racers.
SAPCAR also had it's first mail in this season, something we will grow as more and more racers find the sport and leagues.
Stay tuned here and to our website (www.sapcar.com) for the posting the schedule for season 6.
Keep the dremels spinning, the sandpaper grinding, paint flowing and graphite blowing. See you at the races.
