depends on the shape of the car. for me it's usually 25%

Im trying to find the perfect ratio of added weight for behind/ in front of rear axle Well, I've heard people say 4 ounces on back axles and 1 ounce on the front axle. I personally try to put all if not most of the weighting material just in front of the rear axle for what ever ratio that works out to be. I might use the small area behind the rear axle to fine tune the weight of the whole car. HyperDrive

The physics of weight placement will only determine an ideal location if variables are held constant: - shape/design of car
- steepness of slope to transition
- length of flat track from transition to finish line
.......so there are many different types of ideal weight placements

Im trying to find the perfect ratio of added weight for behind/ in front of rear axle I don't know about weight ratio, but I like to get the balance point of less than 1.0" in front of the rear axle. On a nice flat aluminum track that is...The rougher the racing surface, the less aggressive you want to be.

I agree Mike, on a smooth aluminum track, have COM less than 1" in front of rear axle. Maybe about 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" on a very rough track or else make sure your alignment is dead on with anything less.
