If my son takes his car to district after his pack races, should he relubricate the car if using graphite? I understand (correctly?) that graphite has a break-in period but does it wear off after a certain number of runs? I have never thought of doing this before (relubrication). He may only race the car 6 or 8 times at his pack. atlasbuster

If you are using Hobelube put a couple little puffs on each axle, tap the wheel a bit to get the graphite to fall into the wheel bores. Spin the wheels a few times in the direction the wheels will roll on the track. Hob e lube breaks in pretty quick and will last through the district races.

atlasbuster, I'v only had my timer for a couple of weeks now but it seems that the first 1 or 2 runs after re-lubing is a little slower but after that really consistant untill about the 15th or so then they will start to slow considerably

atlasbuster,
With graphite I re lube any time I get a chance.
I usually mail my cars to the races vs carrying them to the races like your son will, but I would still re lube them.
Good luck to your son and you at pack and districts. Let us know how it turns out.
Phil
