It's official! I am going to be holding a WIRL sanctioned race as the "graduation event" for a class I am going to teach. I would like to invite all to attend! Families are invited for "race day". That sounds like fun! I am going to be out of town the week before the race date, but should be able to make it. My boys would like to race their cars. One ran in March WIRL race and is already registered with WIRL(Blue Heat). We haven't sent my other boys car into WIRL yet. I might be able to bring Skittles - it is a little close to the WIRL May race though - need to make sure I can mail it in time for that Saturdays Race.
Looks like it is held at an Elementary School in Apple Valley- right? thats about an 1.5 hours or so away from me.

YES! It is real close to the MN Zoo, 2 blocks west and 2 blocks south of the zoo.
I hope to see you and the kids and I would love to be able to share some other fine cars with the students.
I'm trying to build a group of WIRLers(?) here in the Twin Cities/Upper Midwest area. I plan to have WIRL sanctioned races at least once a quarter and am currently seeing if I can get a location to have a race every month! Wish me luck!
There will be some special appreciation items for each racer!
Anyone else able to make it in person, or able to send one of the fancy modified cars for demonstration/display?
WIRL, it's What I Really Love doing between races! :-)
Got a Girl Scout Service Unit(Cub Scout District like) race tonight, checked in 104 cars last night - VERY creative!

I survived my first "official" class graduation! It was even a WIRL event! Preliminary results: www.pwdracing.com/needforspeed.htmlI will be getting photos added soon. Thanks to all the help from Warthog Woodcars for adding to the labor pool at the race! I do have a new track record so I guess that means that I can start racing again. My old record was destroyed by almost .2 seconds by a couple of modified cars.

Thanks for hosting the race last night. My son Sam and I had a great time and it looks like your students are well on their way to understanding how to make some fast cars. Great Job Everybody! The track was big, 58' from pin to finish and it was great to see all the cars do well. Mr. Slick has a great race setup and has new track being built that should make it even better. I can't wait to see that one. There were some great souvenirs for all who participated. Including special race pins, that are very cool (maybe Mr. Slick will post some photos). Hopefully, we can get some more WIRL builders to enter future races. And, I can't wait to see some of Mr. Slicks cars . Thanks Again! P.S. - I'm sure you'll get those records back in the near future. Glad we could help you get back into racing.

Mr. Slick,
Let us know far enough ahead of the date and some more people might be able to make the next one. One other thing, Tuesday Nights are also a bit rough for most because of the work schedlues. Saturday or Sunday would be better for attendance of the WIRL guys.
Warthog,
Sounds like a good time. Congrats on the track record.

Sounds like a great class. I would love to come to one of the races. I live about 1 hour away and my boys would love to race there cars. In the future though could you race on the weekend. I work nights and can't attend weekday races. Looking forward to seeing the cars on the website. Please let us know when they are up.
