Hello, my name is Scott Johnson and my experience in Pinewood Racing started back as a kid in Cub Scouts and I was lucky enough to win the Pack Race with my first build. I wasn’t as fortunate the rest of my youthful years in scouting but I always greatly enjoyed the event every year. Now, with two sons in scouts, my interest in pinewood car racing has been re-energized. We have been involved in a couple of Pinewood Derby’s in our Pack and have had pretty good success. Through searching information available on the internet and communications with a number of experienced builders we have met through this forum, we have become pretty good builders. My sons and I raced monthly in WIRL for a little over a year and it was a great experience. Recently, I have been part of a tandem with Mr. Slick in setting up a racing league in Minnesota that races on a monthly basis. The league is named PWD Racing. I highly recommend for anyone who has gotten the Pinewood Bug to try racing some cars at WIRL or PWD Racing. It is a great way to learn and gives you practice in fine tuning your building techniques. It also lets you see where your skills are at compared to the best builders in the country! Scott Warthog Links to PWD Racing: www.pwdracing.com/pwdracing.proboards91.com/
