Last year we used the PineWood Extreme's Extreme Lube, and it seemed to work well. At the Pack race, there was no re-lube allowed between den races and the overall final race. My Wolf's car ran slower at the end of the day, as expected. However, my oldest son's car actually ran faster at the end of the Pack race than at the beginning, and ran even faster at the District race the next day with no mods other than more graphite.
Some of the other dads have put a target on our back, so we need to eek out every millisecond we can in order to defend our "title." I'm looking for the best dry G/M lube out there since oil is verboten. Does anyone have any experience with the Max V lube vs. the PE Extreme lube vs. the Hodges G-M lube? Is there any data to show which one is faster and lasts longer? Our races are about 24 runs.

I like the Pinewood extreme lube. Its awesome. The only other lube that I like is the hob-e-lube. Both are easy to use, and should do the job. The big race comes down to alignment, lube, and weight placement. Make sure that you raise a front wheel, and use the RailRider (TM) ,method

Will do! We already run a 3-wheel setup with RailRiding(TM). Here's a link to my thread in the photo section listing how the cars were set up last year: pinewoodp.proboards29.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Pictures&thread=255&page=1We're going to be even more aggressive with the COM, and one of the boys wants to try an offset body style (that's going to be fun figuring out where to place the weight!). PS. The sample stencil arrived a while back. I'm looking forward to trying it out!

I prefer hodges and 2nd goes to hobby lube 3rd to Max-V lube.
Lubes, each are different and application and prep are the key here !
So different process's can yield differences also.
There is alot of data around on the lubes, seems many have tested them. sometimes comes down to preferences.
In my testing I came up with what We prefer for a variety of reasons.
Keep race format in mind. As you have seen long races and no rules to add lube, which is common in my area, no re-lube !
Single Elim, Double Elim, Round robin.
All three lanes used for for one heat.
