Those look great sporty. How soon do you expect to have them ready to race, and where do you plan to race them. At WIRL? Where ever you race them I wish you good luck.

I hope to have them done before mid december. Then Will test race them. I am borrowing a track to do this. So I have to also get the track yet. Then depending on if they are faster than my current fastest car. Will either use or take apart and start over depending on the outcome of comparison.
no wirl, just cub scouts.

Sporty,
I agree with DerbyDoc, that is a SUPER thin car. Look forward to seeing a completed car. Good luck with the Scout races.

thanks guys for the kind words.
The wood was just under 9 grams before adding the weight. I will post when the car is done. but I do not plan on painting. i am trying to get every bit of weight placed where i want it. I want to really try and maximize my potential energy this year.
I am trying to keep my center of gravity the same as this years council winner.

Wow those are great looking cars!
I am doing thin in a different way. I have a car I call "The Ruler" for two reasons, one, my last name means King/Ruler and two, it looks like a ruler standing on its edge. It is about 1/16" thick tappers at the top and bottom and is 7" long. I put on inch, half inch and quarter inch indicators on it. It weighs 9.8 grams but I am trying to get a little more out of it. I'm not sure it will hold up through all of the heats though. But hey, that's what is about for the dads class.
My son is doing a similar car to yours, but is running a rail design. His car is 3/16" at its thickest point. Without the center removed he is at 11 grams. This is his last year (Web II) and he is going for broke.
I hope your cars run fast! Good Luck!
