Howdy all, Call me Pac if you like. A quick history I live in the Houston Tx. area and have 3 boys, the oldest just having become a cub scout. So I will be building cars for many years to come. We are just building our cars and while I let him do pretty much what he wants to his car with with my help ofcourse ... I'm way more competitive and rather OCD about doing things to the best of my abilities. Blame my dad for that! I love to go all out. As with most thing I do or as my wifes says "over do" I have been reading just about everything I can about building Derby cars. I have found one local contact in my area that has been a wealth of information. As he is getting out of Derbys he is passing on his knowledge and tools on to me. I have seen at least 2 others on these boards from the Houston area and would love to get to know everyone here and make some local contacts. Learn more about local racing and such. I'd enjoy finding others with simular hobbies in the area. Thanks in advance, Pac

You are in the vicinity of (IMHO) one of the best league racers in the nation, ProQuest Performance. You are also near DerbyDominator and Derby Monkey, both of whom own and operate on-line websites selling all kinds of pinewood derby goodies. Derby Monkey also, just this year, opened up the first Derby Worx Pro Shop. DerbyDominator and Derby Monkey are excellent racers as well. Feel free to drop any of them a line. They are all great guys and I'm sure would help you anyway they could. I know there are a few more guys from Texas on the forum as well, hopefully they will step up and introduce themselves. Lucky 13

I look forward to it. Our local derby is this Saturday and I still have a lot of prep work to do (mostly wheels and axels) but I'll be ready by then. Thanks for the welcome, Pac

Pacmansb,
I haven't checked this board for at least 6 months. For some reason, I just decided to stop by, and I saw your post. Do you know how to check your "PMs"? If so, do so. To check you pms just scroll up to the top of this page, and in the upper right hand corner there should be a place where it says "Pacmansb, you have ____ messages, and ____ are new." Just click on that area.
I'm in Houston. Technically, it is Spring, out in the Champions Forest subdivision. So, where ever you are in Houston, it can't be all that far from me.
