OK Dads and Scouts! It is the start of PWD Season. It would be great if you post a picture of the car that Dad and Son made! Please feel free to post! If you have a problem with posting send me a message and I can help! Murph
These are last year's cars. Left to right are youngest son's, mom's, and oldest son's cars.
We haven't even been given the kits yet to start building this year's cars, but I have some designs sketched out. My son sketched up his own design this year and it will be interesting seeing how it comes out. I hope to enter a car for myself this year with a pretty crazy design that will either be very fast or a complete flop.
The "Hot Stuff" car took fourth in the "Dad Class". Considering it wasn't designed for speed, I was happy with it how it did and if I remember right it was close to the 2nd & 3rd place cars. I had a hard time getting the COM back far enough or it probably could have taken 2nd. My son's "76" car on the left blew it away, but then again it beat the top scout car and the track record too.
<I found the results> 1st 31.1170 "76" 2nd 31.4310 3rd 31.4390 4th 31.4690 "Hot Stuff" 5th 31.6910
Here's the car my son entered into the District (2nd place) and Council (4th place) races. We hemmed and hawed over whether we should put the fenders on or not. It turned out the fenders minimized the damage that many of the other cars faced after all the crashes, cars flipping onto the concrete, cars repeatedly smacking into the end of the track because it had a non-effective arresting system, etc. I would have loved to race it against the above "76" car because I believe the "Clone Attack" car was even faster but we'll likely never know. Who'da thunk the "Clone Attack" would actually end up with battle damage!
