Just wondering if anyone has tried this or not. This may be too obsessive, but thats why the name. We're allowed the standard 3/8" clearance on the bottom of a car. A standard car with wheels will measure a tad over 1/2" clearance. Has anyone tried lowering the car closer to this clearance standard? If so, did you notice any gains or losses? Some people may see this as crazy to try and squeeze every inch you can get into a car, but we got 8th in our districts by 0.001 sec, so every thing counts in my book!

Lower COM will gain you stability. Affording you to gain speed by other means.

obsessedderbydad, Read the rules closely. Many packs state you must use the ORIGINAL axle slots and can not alter them in any way. I am faced with this very rule. We know lower COM is better, what is to keep me from hanging the Tungsten slug BELOW the body line? I think most tracks center rail is only 1/4 inch but the 3/8 inch rule is checked by sliding the ruler under the car. As long as the weight is at 3/8", you will be good...
