Our Awana race was held last night. My daughter won 1st place for speed, and 1st place for design ;D
It was a great way to go out her last year.
On to the state finals!

Great job Mike. And tell your daugher congrats also. My daughter really likes soccer so maybe we will copy your design for her powderpuff race at my son's pack race. Congrats again!

Mike, As a matter of comparison, what your daughters car timed? Or was it a 1st, 2nd, 3rd place register?
Curious. We have my daughters Awana Regionals in Dallas this month and together, we have won all of her races over the years. We've been doing our work in a vacuum so to speak because the competition isn't that tough.
Our local race was timed this year and on the 32' track, she averaged 2.41 seconds for four races. I'm just curious how that compares to the efforts you guys are doing.
Beautiful car.

Mike, As a matter of comparison, what your daughters car timed? Or was it a 1st, 2nd, 3rd place register? Our track is approx. 34' long, made of wood, above average condition. Her best time was 3.0746, with her average beig 3.1092 for 4 runs. Those are very fast times on our track. Competition was TIGHT this year there was only .01 of a second between 1st & 2nd place total times! Thank you, we had a blast building it. Good luck to you and your daughter. Post some pics when you get a chance.

Daughter's car this year. Second appearance at the Awana Regionals. Will be the end of February. Can never guess what the competition will be like.
I was lucky enough to be able to cut the wheels down with a razor and not get them out of round (much). First attempt at posting a picture, hope it works.
okay, I can't post a photo.. anyone want to tell me how to post a photo?

Another try at the photo. Isn't pretty, but the dogs usually win all the money on race day.

This was one my youngest raced. She won first with this in speed, but in Sparks. Sparks doesn't have a competition at regionals..

Here are the results of our labor for my daughters last year of Awana racing... At the Awana State race, she won first place in her division, and first place overall out of 98 cars (the smaller trophies are from our local race)! We had a GREAT time! That was her last run on the MONSTER 110 ft track. But, I still get to take the Awana qualifiers and the leaders get to race on the monster too (I took first place in the leader division, and 3rd place overall). ;D
