Here are a couple of pictures of a car I am working on for my sons' Pack race in February. This one is for me in the parent's race. I am planning on painting it white and printing decals out to make it look something like the Castrol GTX Jaguar Lemans car. My wife wants one that looks like a popcorn bucket laid on its side since she was the 'Popcorn Kernel' for our pack this year. Should make for a fun derby with all 4 of us racing this year!

Base coat is on (pearl white) and wing is glued on. Still looking for the right decals. The only ones I can find for the specific car I am looking for (Castrol GTX Lemans car) is from a guy in Australia... $24 for 1/24 decals! I may try to make my own with blank slide decal paper. Still looking for a lexan thingypit that fits just right. The BSA thingypit is close, but I'm going to keep looking.

If you have any dollar stores around look in the toy area .For a buck and some cutting you can not loose. I found a driver for a car I am making. He just needs a repaint.

Yes, Jim. That's what I'm going for. Thanks for the link to the decals, too. I am going to go through them and see if they have what I need. Exalt for you! I hadn't thought of that. Sometimes the answers are right in front of you and you just can't see them! Exalt (in an hour!) for you too!

Speedbuggy - I found a car at the dollar store. Sacrificed the rest of the car, but I think I came away with a canopy that looks like it was made for this car! I also milled the front 'hump' down a little in the middle to make the front fenders. I also ordered the decals yesterday. I ordered them from the guy in Australia. I also just noticed that the Derby Worx Board software changed my wording a little. I'll call it a canopy now, instead of a 'thingypit'!!

Ricerocket,
Call it a thingypit, a hump, or a canopy, it makes your car. It does look like it was made especially for your car.
Great job!!!
The rest of the Cubmasters are going for second place.

NICE JOB Ricerocket!! The canopy made the car, I like the fenders with the center cut out better. Can't wait to see the finished product. Definately a sharp ride!!

Ricerocket, Any new updated pictures? Barry No new ones yet. I did a little more wet sanding tonight, and put a final coat of primer on. Plan on letting it dry for a couple of days, then re-painting. Decals should be here in a few days, I hope Now that is looking like somthing I built. ;D Thanks Speedbuggy! Can't think of a bigger compliment! I honestly could not have gotten the look I was wanting without your help. As a side note, I used another part of the sacrificed toy car and put a "Fast & The Furious" style spoiler on my new stocker that I am sending in to WIRL for December's race. It is just a plain wing, and the spoiler jazzed it up a little. Thanks again, SB!
