Well I think I should have last place in the race locked up, but it will race anyway. Needs a few more details but ran out of time, there is always next month. Name sucks and it was the best I could come up with, anyway "Woody's Woodie" is in the mail. Good Luck to everyone on Saturday! Woody!

Geez Louise, you just had to send that car in didn't you! Now RR Capt will get pushed even farther down the list Seriously, that's a really nice looking car. You obviously put considerable time into it and it shows. Good job! I really like that car, it's cool ;D The boy wants to build another new car, a funny car (the drag racing kind, not humorous). And I have plans to build a rendition of an E/Altered car my Dad used to race and held the national record with for awhile back in the 60's. But we'll have to wait for the break between spring and fall baseball. We hope to have them ready for the August or September WIRL race. Good luck this month DNF and everyone else

Great job with the realistic car! Now the only thing you need on there is some flames! One of these days I'll be joining you realistic guys when I find the time to finish one I've got started. Jim

Looks Great Woody! I am not sure I have the patience to build one of those realistic cars. Maybe someday I'll try it. You've got some good skills.

NICE job! Looks like it may even have a surprise under the hood. . . ? I can fully appreciate the work that you must have put into it. I am going to start a new car this weekend for next month. Question: Does a realistic have to have a color or can it just be clear coated?

I think as long as it looks like a car in shape is what they mean.
Hopefully it will have something under the hood next month, got the engine built, but a hinge is a problem. The shape of the car doesn't make it easy. I'll figure it out at some point! Dumb thing is I decided to have the hood open after and basically trashed the car for a new one and that got trashed so this is actually the two cars together. I never measured the car now that I think about it, only weighted it. Guess they will tell me if it doesn't fit.
Thanks for all the compliments guys, I really had fun building the car.

DNF, For a hinge you could always use a small piece of tubing attached to the main body, one at each side, and a paperclip that would slide thru the tubing. Hope this helps. Jim

well actually that is about what i have designed. The wire has to slide up some too to get clearance from the body. I have it 90% done, but I decided I better get some paint on the car for the race, so it will have to wait for when I get it back. In fact I am looking at the paper clip I experimented with on my desk. That was a good couple hours my employer lost......
Oh yeah and I wanted flames, wish I would have thought of it before the main color went on. I read you painting post too late. Not sure I am ready for an air-brush yet.

DNF, You can do the flames the other way around by painting the flames last if you find or make the right mask. You just have to think about it in reverse. Always work your colors lighter to darker colors. For a good mask you could always try this place though they might be a little small because these are for Hot Wheels cars: www.kbkustoms.com/flamemasks/info/tutorials/index.htmlYou would want the outer masks. I have acutally used that company before. These tribal flames were painted with a kbkustoms mask. This car ran at WIRL August 05...didn't do so great I used the kbkustoms mask on this one too. I have some new stuff if I can only find the time...

Hey just sent in the Woodie again this month, had to repaint again, but added a wood strip over the fender. I also added a little accessory to the rear for fun. I will try to get better pictures when it gets back, but I must have drank too much coffee when I tried to take these (and the others were worse!!!!) Anyway

Thanks,
It should float, made from a standard PWD block. Even have a cut out in the trailer so I can add a prop and rutter, but I don't think that would have made the trip. I will add that and lights and an American flag for show purposes, all chris crafts have a flag.
I'll replace the pictures when I get the car back that aren't so blurry.
