Of all the cars I've seen over the years, this one is in my top 5. I was going through the photos in my digital camera and came across this. I was so excited to see it again. I cut this car for a young lady at one of our workshops. It took her and her mom a long time to decide on what shape they wanted. They weren't much interested in any of the other "cookie cutter" shapes we were cutting. I asked her what her interests were, and one of them was violin... well, they seemed to like that idea. I took her block home and sketched and sketched some more. I was able to come up with the rough cut of the violin, and thought it was pretty good. I hollowed out the body and filled it with lead, and called her mom and delivered it. Two weeks later, this was the finished product. Her daddy worked with her to finish shaping and sanding and finishing. I love the strings. They used regular threads for that. Although it only took second in design, I thought it was the best. She qualified with it to go to Regionals. I told them there would be a different set of judges and that maybe she would fare better.. And, it was fast also. Enjoy.......... Pat

Pat, awesome car. It really got my attention since my 14-year old daughter is a very good violinist. She plays very difficult classical pieces and in several orchestras in our area. I'm not the musician in our family..she got those genes from her mother.
Happy new year and good luck to all in the coming year!!
