Any tips on wiping down a car. What solvents to use ? The cars are top coated with a clear coat spray.
Thanks, John.

John,
I read this somewhere and it works really well. I take a small drop of liquid dish soap on a soft cloth and wipe down my car. I then take a clean damp cloth and wipe off any soap residue.
Works great for me.

After the clear coat has thoroughly dried try rubbing it out with some auto cleaner wax on a soft rag. I have had good luck with Meguiar's No. 6 Cleaner Wax. It takes the graphite off and leaves a great shine behind . Works great at spiffing up a hard working PWD car after a long day at the track. Works great on the family car to.

I had a heck of a time trying to clean the Graphite off my sons bright Yellow car, I tried everything under the sink and garage that would not harm the paint, and what I found is Pledge wipes work the best, cleans off pretty well and leaves a good shine! Plus they are compact and fit in a small tool box or take along box when at the track. Plus it makes the car smell like oranges, lol
Hope this helps

I have used vegetable oil. Doesn't always get it all but, it's pretty effective.

My better half just gave birth to #6 (all boys), so we have plenty of those around! I'll have to give that a try this year. If your boys are born a part by one year and assuming someone in your family takes cub scout pack champion every year, your family name will dominate for 10 years! If your boys are born a part by five years and making the same assumption, your family name could dominate for 30 years! Did you start with kids when you were 20 by chance? LOL Close! I was 24. 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2006, 2008. We didn't win Pack champion last year (4th overall), but who knows about this year! If we keep winning year after year, they may draft me into putting on workshops!!!

Gentlemen, my son and daughter are racing their cars in the morning. Unfortunately, we got graphite all over the cars. Made a real mess. I tried the baby wipes and they got some of it off, but then I thought of the Magic Eraser that my wife says will clean anything. Sure enough, it took all the graphite right off. I highly recommend it.
