Hi all, I've read where several folks are using a syringe type of applicator to put dry lube into tight places. Seems like a good idea, as the "stuff" can be more precisely aimed (?). My question is, when pushing the plunger, does the graphite tend to solidify instead of being delivered out of the tip?

It compacts and can clog, it does crunch it, what I do, is only add a little into the syringe. I also open the tip and whole bigger with a paper clip. I tap out from the syringe into the area I want lubed. i also cut off about 1/4 of a inch of the tip to get to the wider whole of the tube.
i do not actually squeeze it out, as most often it will just back and clog up.
despite all of this, which might sound like more of a pain, it still allows me to get in better and apply, also it's still less messy and less waist of the product.
I tried the straw method and I had trouble getting into the area's I needed to reach. And was messy and hard to control the flow of the lube.
so, the syringe is not really used as a syringe, i finger flick or tap it out to the end of the tube and it seems to flow decent from there.

A few years back at a Home Depot I ran across a graphite applicator. I wish I had bought several but the one I bought works great. I emptied the graphite it came with and filled it up with my own. The applicator is a skinny hollow needle attached to a 3/8" x 4" tube, instead of a plunger you just squeeze the tube. If it clogs you just shake it or lightly tap it. I am able to very effectively lube the wheel bores and other tight spaces with the small tip. It can handle the coarser graphite such as hob-e-lube without clogging.

Hmmmm......Home Depot, eh? That place never crossed my mind. Well, necessity IS the mother of invention, and you guys seem to be pretty creative, just like a lot of the info from here...do we really know how to have fun, or what!!! Thanks
