Looks like a great shipping set up DSRacing.
I hope you don't mind, I formatted you post so the pics didn't run off the edge of the browser.
Thanks for sharing.

That is a really nice piece of work.
Are you puting the box in some kind of nylon carry bag?

I had a handgun case that I put the foam into. (Cabela's case @ $29) Then I can use it to carry to local event or box up the whole works to ship to an event.
Thanks for the positive feedback. I hope it helps others solve some of their shipping nightmares.

ds racing, thanks for posting very good details and pics on shipping case. I definitely will be building something similar for 07, especially after Chilli Pepper's return from the holidays.

I bought some little wooden boxes (approx. 3"W x 8 1/2"L x3"H) at Michaels. They hold 1 car pretty nice. I made holes for the wheels etc and put padding in it.
I didn't have time to get pictures before I sent my cars. If they come back OK, I'll post some pictures of them. They are pretty simple to make.
Good luck this weekend.

I posted the link to this a couple days ago but I guess someone deleted it. It shows the steps to make a box using 2 inch thick styrofoam available from Home Depot for about $6. The foam is cut to specific sizes to fit the cars or car. The box needs to be 2 inch deep and the pieces under the cars is trimmed to 1 inch thick. Good luck Maxx, Consider this option.........

Phil Here are some pictures of one of my packing boxes. I put a 1/2" piece of balsa wood in the bottom that had slots cut out for the wheels. All 3 of my cars came back in great shape. I hope this helps somebody. Phil
