We have an adult race that runs with the boys BSA race. The only rules are the same car dimensions, 5 oz. and we have to use the 9 parts from the BSA kit. I am a real novice when it comes to bushings, bearings, and washers (prohibited in the boys race, but not in the adult). Can anyone give some hints here on what might be useful?
Thanks,
Jim

Bushings are to reduce the hole size in the wheel (usefull if you are using needle axles), bearings can also be used inside wheel (I've never seen fast cars with bearings and they are expensive), washers are ment to reduce friction where the wheel rubs the car body (debatable improvement as compared to polished well cured paint). If you have to use the car parts and have no way to reduce axle size from the stock nails (a lathe etc.) then bushings, bearings and washers probably aren't worth considering. Polished axles and wheels can still make the fastest car!

ninjarabbi, use miniature ball bearing from MSC. Part #35380617, open flanged, it has .078 I.D. and .025 O.D. and price is 9.66 each. Before use wash out with solvent and apply 2 drops of krytox. this will work.
