I am just starting to get into the pinewood scene. A couple of races allow bearings. We are debating here if wheels with small ball bearings would be faster than a well prepared standard setup. It seems that the potential to loose wobble might be worth it.
Does anyone have experience with this?

I machined some titanium wheels last year with a counter bore in the hub so I could press fit in a set of RC car bearings from Boca Bearings. I only used 10 ounces of weight. I noticed a SMALL increase in performance. I think that if you want to use bearings (at least like the ones I tried), you will see more of a performance increase as you increase the weight.
