I found a great source for fairly inexpensive set screws that a lot of folks are using to hold their axles in place. I used to use 4-40 set screws when I raced RC cars, but only had a few extra, so when I checked on getting more at the hobby shop, they were a little pricey (about $3 for 6 of 'em!). I went to www.boltdepot.com and found a box of 100, shipped to my door for $10.12! I shouldn't ever run out of them again! Boltdepot's part number for the 4-40 x 1/8" steel set screw is #8415. $4.27 + $5.85 shipping. Thought I'd pass this on, might help somebody.

Rice,
I was noticing that in all the cars. Since I've never used them before do instruction come with the sets.

J2CE, I am using them on two cars for the first time this month. Really easy. I used the same bit I use for drilling axles (#44) and just ran the set screws into the holes. I used a 4-40 tap on one hole, and realized that it was unnecessary, since the wood is soft enough for the set screws to make their own threads.

The hole is drilled perpendicular to the axle hole and about 3/8 inch in from the outer edge of the car body. This allows a sloppy axle hole to have a set screw applied to hold the axle in place. The set screw should be under the car body if possible to make it accessible without messing up your surface paint job.
