Hi folks...
My Tiger Cub has just completed his first Pinewood Derby. We brought home a third place trophy. Now he is hooked (so is dad).
He wants to race some more. Problem is that his pack only races once a year.
What do you PWD guys do between pack races???
Thanks!!!

Hey srob, you just discovered a new underworld of pine car racing (like I did a few months ago) following these links, and let me know with a PM if you need any help: wirlracing.com/forum.shtmlpwdracing.com/ On the second site look at the rules and registration for hosted proxy. You mail the cars in and watch them race via the net on streaming video. then you can go back and see the videos later. During the races you can chat through messenger or sometimes a voice headset (at least some do, I haven't mastered that one yet). You can build as many cars and race in as many classes as you want. There will never be a shortage of opportunity for more building and racing. I will send you a PM- look in the upper right of the home page on this board for messages- then click on messages- if you've gotten this far, I asure you that you will figure the rest out too!.

Hey srob:
Welcome to the Derby Worx Pro Board. If you are looking for a place to race between annual cub scout races, you are definitely in the right place. Some of the builders on this board race by proxy 2-3 times every month. Like sappingtonr said, you just mail your car to the race, the officials receive it, register it, inspect it, and assuming it passes inspection, they stage/race it for you. Here at WIRL there are 4 divisions, each with its own unique set of rule and specifications, including a class for newcomers (a/k/a the "Rookie" class). Do you understand how to check your "pms"? Sounds like sappingtonr has sent you more info. Hope you join in. We're having a blast.

PWDR's next proxy race is scheduled for Feb 9th. Here is a direct link to the forum where you will find the rules for each division, info on shipping, and general items of interest. PWDR has a "Novice" division for new builders as well as 6 additionally division to race in, something for everyone !! If you watch the forums you will also see live races that you can attend throughout the year, trust me, they are a lot of fun !! Hope to see you on the track !! pwdracing.proboards91.com/Lucky 13

How great is it to get all these newcomers because derby might be over and they can't wait until next year?!! This is how I was exactly one year ago, and now, many proxy races later, I just can't stop. Welcome to all the new guys, I am sure you will find these boards as helpful and enjoyable as I did. Good luck.
