OK... let's stretch the spirit of the rules a bit
Everything that I've read indicates that a little NyOil is a much better lubricant than graphite.
Our activity director says to use the Official Boy Scouts Pinewood Derby Rules for our upcoming District Derby. The OFFICIAL BSA "GRAND PRIX PINEWOOD DERBY KIT" RULES states... "Pre-lubricate axles and wheels using, dry powdered lubricant. Do not use regular oil or silicone spray, since it may soften the plastic"
It doesn't actually say that we can't use NyOil... and NyOil is not a "regular oil"... right?
And since NyOil will not "soften the plastic" It should be OK to use... right?
According to the NyOil instructions... you only use one drop to lube the axles and wheel hub... then wipe off the excess oil off of the axle. So there is really very little oil involved and should not drip or run... so it should go unnoticed anyway... right?

Be careful! You are skirting the edges of a very grey area! If this will be your first experience with NyeOil be absolutely sure in it's application. If you see ANY it's too much. Hyper critical application, reason we gave up on it several years ago. Many report good results. We went with Krytox instead and have never looked back, except at comp.

Gotta agree with doct1010, oil is oil, it is definitely not a dry lubricant. I would stick to the safe side and use hob-e-lube or graphite of your choice. If it is detected, you will have opened a can of worms, especially if your car does well. Good luck, whatever you choose.
Doct1010, thanks for the tip on toothpicks for filling the drilled holes, worked like a charm.

Yeah... I think your all right. There's probably no good way to talk your self out of a jam if the NyOil is detected. I really don't think its worth the chance either.
Thanks
