hi everyone, that was so much fun for my 6 yr old and I, waiting for the results last nite!! I know our times were pretty bad, which is exactly what I expected, but can any of you pros tell me just how bad it was? Not sure if it was okay for the first time, or something I should really think about finding another way to spend my time. Please be honest I can take it. car name was jamaica mistaica

Hello Parrotracing, The only way for you to go from where you are is up up and away ;D.We all have to start somewhere, with that being said all I can say is that as long as you and your 6 year old are having fun building, painting, tuning, desiging, racing then you are winners every month . As far as the times go,they are your times and yours to beat so we all expect to see that car next month. And I am sure you will have a lot of fun trying to make it go faster . Maxx

right again, maxx!! my son didn't really care what our times were, he was just so proud of his design and paint job and the fact that I let him use the dremel tool, he can't wait to see the actual race

Parrotracing, The only advice I can offer you is to take some time and read the post here on the board, ask questions, and remember this is all for fun !! There is plenty of info on this board to help you build a faster car. Stick with it and you will see improvements !!
Good Luck, Bob Lucky 13

Parrotracing and all new racers,
If you enjoyed it, you were a winner.
For a while a person has to compete with last months times, and try to pick up a little every month. Ask a few questions on the things you're not sure about, and if possible go to a live event somewhere. Above all, don't be afraid to try something new, because that's where the learning comes in.
I don't know what you used for wheels, but if you don't have the equipment to make a good set of wheels, there are several places that sell a nice set of pure stock wheels reasonably. By reasonable I mean $12.00 + shipping.
I've finished dead last several times, but I enjoyed the racing the little wooden cars, so I kept racing. I think you will do the same thing.
Good luck, and if I can help, just let me know.
Phil
