I have been on the derby talk webpage for a while now but have been floating around here also. I have a personal 35' best track with a K3 timer and have been playing around with my sons car for some time now. Our race is Saturday and my most recent fastest time was 2.470. I'm consistant around 2.478 - 2.483. Given my track and timer is this par for the coarse??

Alot is going to depend on where the timer is at, ? 29 feet ? 32 feet ?
That is the hard issue with track times. Knowing how good the start system is also, the angle of the peg even can play a role in times. Or the levelness of the track / floor that it is on.
I would say you have a pretty decent time !m But if you know the distance of the track, to where the timer is. That can tell us more also.
Would enjoy a pic.

sdupont1, was ur besttrack pre-drilled for the timer? if so, what set of holes are you using. those sound like some really good times. i also have a 35' besttrack with a microwizard k1 and i'm running high 2.5's low 2.6's with "pure stock" cars. i'm using the last (big) holes.

Yes it was predrilled for the K3 timer. I think it has three sets of holes. 2 small holes and a larger hole in the middle. I aligned the laser over the larger hole in the middle. Track is set up at fathers shop so I don't have it here to look at, but that what I believe is there. I also am running stock. Our rules prohibit modifying the wheels. We do allow extended axles but thats about all. Here is a pic of the car unpainted.

i really like the design of ur car. the big holes on my track are the farthest from the starting peg.

Sdu, that is a very nice looking car- love the low profile. Is that melted lead in the back? What do you estimate your C.O.G. at?
P.S. Welcome to the Message Board!!!

COG .25" - .375", 8 Tungsten plates plus the 6 grams of lead that you see.
