The last 2 months in WIRL my pure stock PS-7EVEN has run the exact average time overall, the first runs have been 3.11s, Then drops quickly to what seems to be more than the average compared to other cars in class as much as 3.18s. I understand lube breakdown but is this amount of time slippage excessive? Is this is a normal time loss due to lube breakdown A fall off of 0.06s?

Watching the vids, I can see some shimmy in the car. On the runs that are slow it looks like your right rear (facing towards the finish line) is hitting the rail. Have you tried replacing the axles or wheels? I wonder if you have either a small bend that the lube is hiding to start or some type of mar in the hub that becomes more dominant once the lube starts to be expelled.
We're chasing the same thing in my son's car right now. Car has a shimmy and times are jumping around.
We've tried making it into a 4 wheel railrider to mixed results. Tried the bent axle trick to manage the turn into the rail. Darn thing will turn 3" over 4 ft on two runs n the alignment baord, then barely turn 1" over the same distance over the next 3 tries. We've decided to just leave it and let it ride since districts are Sat and we don't want to make things worse.
Good luck exercising your car' demons.

Da Pine, What did you change from the Feb. race? It looked like the times were better in Feb.
We're working on our consistency, we had a couple of bad runs in both Feb & March.
We just got Merlin back and have run it, to check the times (they are about the same as when we shipped it, on our track)
Last month when we got Check-Mate back we seemed to be slower on our track.

Thanks psycaz, It didn't dawn on me, the thought of the new lube hiding a deeper problem and then rearing its ugly head after 1 run. Exalt
Knothead, I didn't change a thing. Just cleaned the body, wheel contact surface and re-lubed. By the way, that 3.1068 in heat 11 by Merlin was very very nice.

Thanks. We're working on it. (3.04 is going to be hard to reach) We'll be happy at .10s for six races right now.
I looked at the numbers again. It looks like Feb. the car ran out of gas. (lube ran out) the last three runs it started to slow in the March race, times looked like a breakin issue. (started to even out at the end) I have the numbers in a graph if your interested.
We're fighting the same problems. We need to find a better lube breakin method. I like the treadmill idea.
