Looks like a great machine but seems like a steep price for the occasional hobbier. Although I bought a $40.00 mini lathe on Ebay which worked only marginally well. There are several lathes on ebay Ive seen in the $150- price range. Wondering if anyone out there has a suggestion for a good quality/good price lathe.

I think Derby Master has a nice Mini Lathe. I am not sure what kind he has though or what price range...

Yes I have a Mini Lathe From Cummings, bought at a tool show in my area for $399.00. Took sometime to get set up to run with in .001 . Works great. I use it about 3 or 4 times a week, great for pinewood derby sport.
