Finally got around to measuring my track. 35' best from starting pin to finish light is exactly 30' or 360". On the track facts, it stated that a stock car should be around 2.6699 and an open style with s be around 2.5646 at 358.5".
Well my has extended wheelbase and somewhat lightened wheels (rules state BSA markings inside wheel must be intact). My wheels weigh about 2.5 grams. So I'm in between open class and stock.
My times are consistant at 2.484 with a K3 timer at exactly 30' or 360".
So, my question is how is this, district is this Saturday?

The times you referenced at the DerbyWorx site are from a couple of years ago. The cars have gotten faster and faster over the last couple of years by most builders.
2.484s. on a 35' best track is good. Especially if it is consistent and you don't think you can get any more out of the car itself.
We've noticed that sometimes no matter what kind of great alignment you have the cars will only go so fast, which is why some of the league builders choose to build a fresh car.

The compairson on this page is to show the difference in the tracks and give a compairson of the 2 standards at the same distance pin to eye. These were not district or league cars by any means.
Race fast

What kind of times should I be shooting for at this distance? What are some of the fastest times for this track? Trying to see if I have to go back to the drawing board.

We haven't re-visited the 35' configuration in a while. It is very hard to compare times from track to track because of timers, eyes, micro switches and starting gates there will always be some variance between race tracks. Your times sound good but everyone will have to race on the same track, so know your track and tune the car untill there is nothing left to get and you will do fine. Is it a Railrider set up? On the track facts, it stated that a stock car should be around 2.6699 and an open style with s be around 2.5646 at 358.5". So, according to this, my sons' cars left about .5seconds on the track??? How in the world am I supposed to find .5s with the stock wheelbase and unmodified wheels (can't even cone the hubs, let alone lighten them)?? They cleaned up this year and won handily, with my Bear's car having a personal fastest of 3.060s. Axles were polished to 1micron, used the WheelShaverXT, polished the bores, hit 4.998oz, COM at .9", did the rail riding with 1.5" at 4' and so on. BTW, the record for the track we use is 2.970s. Is it possible that it's actually a 42' track? The pack leader wasn't even sure if it was 35' or 42' Best Track.
